In honor of father’s day, I thought I’d share with you one of the most oft-heard expressions from my childhood.
Me (or my brother): Da-aaad, you’re supposed to be doing ____ this way!
Dad: Now who’s milking this cow?
*silence*
Dad: That’s right. You’re just holding the tail.
I cannot tell you how many times my dad reminded me that he was, in fact, milking that cow. It often preceded a threat to “thump [me] on the noggin.”
after I visited today, I was out with my boys and I used the “thump your noggin” line. LOL
my mom used to say “bop you on the bean” I felt the need to change it up a bit. ;-)
Wow. I’ve never heard that before.
I’m going to use it completely inappropriately, on purpose, now.
I think I’ll use it as a general exclamation of surprise.
